Mom, Dad and Brian come for a visit

Mom, Dad and Brian were out this weekend for a visit. Good times were had by all. Here's a picture of Dad, taking a picture of Aspen. As dad often says, "a photo shoot is only fun for the photographer." Aspen agrees.

Here's Aspen enjoying his new favorite sleeping place, on Sara's head.
We seem to take a picture of this whenever it happened. These pictures were both on the camera, but they were taken different days.
Here's Aspen enjoying a bath.
We took a tour of Coors Field. Surprisingly good time. Here's Brian in the dugout. Just think Todd Helton has sat here. I'm touching a rail that Todd has touched. I haven't washed my hands since.
Mom and Brian in the press box.
They name of the field is painted on the field side of this sign. Shouldn't the players already know where they are?
The bat Todd Helton used in the World Series. We tried to break the glass, but it was surprisingly strong.

We spent a long time in the Celestial Seasonings store. I like tea so much I'll drink it from the pot.

Dad and I posing outside the Western Art Museum near the tea factory. We blend right in with the other cowboys.
Everyone wants to get back in the saddle.

The only bummer was that Kylie couldn't come. Hopefully she'll be here next time.

Katie and her fish

With the Holladays out here in Colorado for a long weekend, we have a ton of photos to upload but will be waiting for Jim to send us some of his pics before getting those up. So in the meantime, enjoy this shot of Katie and the 13 inch brook trout (did I get that right, Katie?) that she caught fly fishing in Vermont last week. And yes, she threw the little squirmer back in the water...

On a blog posting roll here...

The Pearl Street Mile was on July 31 and we had quite the crew running in the race this year. KC and I ran together (and with her help we thoroughly beat my goal of running faster than last year; we finished in 8:44 - yea!) and then Ryan and Scott ran in the competitive males wave.

Sara and KC about to finish it off strong:

Double fisting it with water to celebrate. It was um, hot, really really really hot that day. Fortunately the clouds rolled in so the 100 degree temp didn't feel quite so bad by race time:

Scott, running like lightening as usual and then below, our friend Kevin came to cheer us on...sadly Kevin left in his moving van this morning for San Diego. We'll miss him!

We had our friends KC and Ryan over to grill some chicken and tofu...and clearly we hadn't used the grill in a LONG time because look at what we found on the right side of the grill lid:

We took these pictures from a distance using the zoom feature, don't worry. We still haven't decided exactly how to get rid of this beehive...any suggestions?

We said goodbye to Steve, Allie and twins Paige and Sarah this past week. We're pretty sad to see our good friends leave. :( Here's Scott with one last baby pose with Paige:

We dog sat for our friend Joe's dog Porter again recently Yes, Porter got out and loose on me again (this time he just slipped out of his collar and 1.5 hours later, I had him back on his leash...seriously, why does this only happen to me and not Scott??). Here's the big peacemaking moment of the weekend: Scott introduced Aspen and Porter, which went surprisingly well:

Scott trying to nap with Porter on his dog bed:
Our friend Becki is getting married in a week (August 9) and I spent a night at The Med restaurant in Boulder with some of her closest friends as a bachelorette kind of night. Here we all are adding flowers to our hair:

Finally - more photos! Ohio trip and Scott's bday!

Sorry it has taken us so long to update this. We've got lots and lots of photos to post so we'll try and spread it out over a few posts. First, Scott's birthday on 7/20 and Beth and Bart's wedding on 7/19.

Scott opening presents on his birthday (with a little help from Aspen):

Working backwards from the wedding weekend...here we are at the Sunday morning brunch at the Kormanik house:
At the concrete cornfield (yes, really) on Sunday morning en route to brunch:

Around Columbus before the wedding: Booing the Ohio State Stadium:
