Florida Trip

Upon our return, Aspen & Millie closely inspected the seashells we brought back for them to sniff.

And Millie was up to no good earlier in the week, leaping to the highest bookshelf to inspect the flowers.

While in Florida, we took a trip down to Miami to cruise around the neighborhoods, see the Vizcaya house/museum/gardens (http://www.vizcayamuseum.org/), and see and be seen in South Beach. Or at least have a coffee and people watch on Lincoln Street. The photos are largely from Vizcaya even though Scott pronounced it to be one of the oddest (code for unattractive?) gardens since it didn't have a single flower. Good times were had in Florida as usual - a couple of visits with Mimi, Sara's grandmother, and Aunt Julie, Jay, and Jason...everyone seemed to be doing pretty well. The only sad part is that Russ will be in FL next weekend for a conference and we missed him! And yes, it appears as though Sara actually avoided getting sunburned. Good news on that front.

Limeston formed from coral reef...

We took a airboat "tour" of the Everglades and got a sneak peek at a few gators and vultures. It wasn't exactly the best tour ever since our tour guide said a total of about 15 words but it was an entertaining experience nonetheless. We drove through some of the nearby Seminole reservations and spotted LOTS of gators there, too.

Photos of Dad and Peter's condo - the balcony looks out over the New River with lots of chances for boat-watching. And cruise ships leaving port are also visible a few miles away.
